I'm going to vote no, regardless of where you are at the firm or the cost. Gold was big in the 80s, but now it just looks like you don't own your own dress clothes, and raided your dad's closet for 30 year old stuff he wouldn't miss.

Granted this is NYC, I understand gold is more acceptable in Asia. 

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
