Is this shirt OK to wear to the office?
Interning at a firm that’s known for a bit of a stuffier, more professional culture (ties expected in office). Is this shirt fine to wear? All of my other shirts are solid white or blue, I have one that has thin light blue stripes too. Is this too “casual”?
Idk, I wore something just like that before and was told it looked like a party shirt. If you’re full time, imo who cares but don’t roll the dice if you’re an intern
Thanks.
I'd lean towards not; nothing beats crisp white shirts. But with a tasteful tie (e.g. plain, non-patterned, dark red) and suit (plain, charcoal grey), it could work - unlikely that people will really care too much unless you get the occasional traditionalist
I'd say too casual for an office environment because of the dots and subtle sheen. Take a look at what shirts your colleagues wear, and decide if it's appropriate for you, as an intern, to wear that. I'd play it safe in the first few weeks with solid whites and blues.
Too casual for the office
