Is this TH Carrera 5 a good watch?

I'm thinking of getting one of these. Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 5 Automatic

Retail is 2500, but can get discounted at authorized retailer to maybe 2k. Is it too flashy or expensive as an analyst starting out? (Note: this will be my first automatic watch)

Lastly, any good recommendations at the same price point? Thanks

I have almost the exact same watch. I have the bigger one thats a bit more at like ~$3800 but its a beautiful watch and well worth the money.

If you genuinely like watches nothing wrong with that at all - it's by no means flashy and a very timeless style that will last you a lifetime. You won't look out of place with that watch. You'll notice most people have one nice watch they wear every day. :-)

Never been a fan of TH watches...get an IWC/Panerai or go vintage. I rock a vintage omega dress watch from the 1960s. It looks bada$$ and it's not as generic.

@"TraderDaily" yea it's really a matter of taste. I trend towards big steel watches on the weekends and more subtle watches during the workweek, but that's just me.

One watch I have my eye on is a vintage Rolex Sub- love the look. Pray for good bonuses this year haha.
