Is this watch too fancy?

I know there have been a lot of watch discussions here, but my question is: is this one too fancy?
IWC Portofino (with black strap and white face, $4,500 retail).

My friend and I were debating whether it's too nice for OCR/interviews at the firm for SA positions.

I feel like the Portuguese is more flashy and definitely too much for an undergrad (yes, my friend and I are undergrads haha). But agreed, it's a nicer watch. It wouldn't be just for interviews since I could see myself liking/wearing that watch for the rest of my life, but I'm probably going to wait on buying a watch that nice. My friend was more serious about buying it, though, because his dad is a private watch dealer and could get one really easily/for cheap.

My undergrad friend is wearing his dad's old Breitling, some people I knew bought IWC or Rolex with their internship salary. But it all depends. Maybe the interviewer didn't come from money and worked his ass off in college and in his first 5 years to finally afford an IWC. Then he probably hates undergrads wearing nice watches.

Honestly not my cup of tea. And yes, just like what @Dingdong08 said, " Don't buy it specifically for an interview and it seems like a pretty pricey thing to buy if you're in college."

Hope you could get the best pick!

Fortes fortuna adiuvat.

I think it's a really nice watch, simple, understated, elegant. However, I agree with the lot here--it's a bit fancy for an undergrad who hasn't paid any dues yet...BUT, if you yourself don't overplay it on the interview as a flashy person who doesn't appreciate the value of the watch, then it's fine--it will just be something noticed, not mentioned--otherwise, I'd save it at least for first year.
