J&M Durant Bit Loafer

Is this for work or casual wear? Don't really like the bulky sole. Otherwise it is alright. Also J&M is good for the price so don't worry about the people saying to drop $500 on Ferragamos.

Those are fine for jeans/khakis but with a suit I like something with more of a heel on it. Soft soles like that are too casual in my opinion.

Aiming for business casual. Gray slacks and a blazer, perhaps with a suit in less formal occasions (class presentations, etc...one semester left of undergrad.) Like the horsebit but can't afford Gucci's just yet. Mostly concerned about the toe not being rounded enough (it's a softened curve though) over things like leather quality. By no means would these be my go-to shoe for business formal. Comparable suggestions welcome. I'm not in New York and try to avoid anything "fashion forward."

needed some repair, took it back, they repaired it, made it brand new.

simple and elegant. also, easy to take off/on at airport checkouts.

^^^ I agree with the prior two posters, those shoes are more appropriate for gray slacks and a blazer...the shoes the OP posted are more for khakis and more casual button down

Agree with prior three posters. J&M are plasticy/cardboardy leather and look stupid. Definitely get something with a replaceable leather heel as it will last 10 times longer.

I prefer the bit and those Cole Hanns are sharp. I've heard mixed reviews on the new CH's with the Nike Air tech in them...anyone care to weigh in? I'm thinking I might just keep the J&M's for casual as I snagged them for only about $80.
