Yes, I think they are appropriate. Everyone will warm up to you and give you a cute pet name like "camel toe boy" and praise you for your "eccentric", stylish fashion choice. Btw it's a travesty what Galliano did to the House

I love Margiela generally but like those have always confused the hell out of me in terms of why they exist. They literally make you look like you have hooves. Maybe if you're a centaur for a halloween party you could rock them to show you've got a blended sense of fashion, high budget, and style? Otherwise, forget about it lol.

Margiela has several pieces in their collections which are super "unique" and not normal couture. If you like the brand, just go for one of their more regular-styled pieces but don't expect that you can wear them in an office setting ever. Like I love the Future high tops and the paint splatter sneakers but that's not office-appropriate obviously.
