There is no such thing as "boots for the office". Your choices are oxfords or derbys, son.
I think it's hilarious that I'm getting monkey poo for this one. BUT the proof-is-in-the-pudding, no one else has stepped up with a suggestion. Boots simply don't belong in the office; this is finance, not a fucking rodeo.

Allen Edmonds has multiple boots that are great for the office. The Dalton in particular, especially in walnut. When you’re standing up, it looks like a traditional dress shoe. When you sit down, you reveal your badass-ness.
I agree with the above. I have the Dalton in Dark Cherry and it's a great boot.

Must they have laces? Chelsea boots are a much better option as they look dressy enough with a suit and good with slim jeans.

Hardcore agree on the Jodhpur boot. I wear them a ton in the office and get a lot of compliments. Granted, I work on the buyside in Texas so others' mileage may vary.

Redwing boots, highly recommend. They have sales in the summer which is hard to pass, especially since the weather conditions in New York in the winter are dismal.
Check out Chelsea boots... PRL makes a nice pair for dressing up moreso than dressing down though.
