No Suit, What to Wear to Networking Event

I don't have a suit and have a networking event tomorrow at a prominent equity research firm. I have dress slacks, khakis, blue blazer, ties and dress shirts along with the obvious shoes, socks, belts etc. I have navy blue and grey charcoal dress slacks. It is a large event with informational segments, but the last hour and a half is devoted to networking. Any insight would be great.

If you have a blue blazer and navy slacks, I don't see the problem. Just make sure the color and patterns are very similar so it looks like a suit.

No. Don't do this. You'll look like a scrub wearing an orphaned suit jacket with slacks if the two fabrics aren't identical. with a blue blazer+charcoal pants, it'll look like you meant to wear it. and they can't blame you if they didn't say 'business formal required.'

Skip the networking event and spend the time getting a suit.
