Not sure if this is a troll or legit, but no to plaid. Just go with a normal, plain navy, charcoal or gray suit. You aren't supposed to look suave and stylish. You are supposed to look like someone ready to work hard.
Not a fan of both of those suits. I'd take a look at Banana Republic. They carry more "youthfully" cut suits, which it seems you're after, but are still in the classic styles. Plus, if you have a BR outlet store near by you can get a really nice one for under $200 (huge sale going on right now).
Also, I'd check out Nordstrom Rack. They have great suits at great price, plus you can try them on.

Just a plain navy? Alright. I was told it was supposed to have a design, didn't sound right to me but he's very successful so I didn't question.
