Piercings on the job????
I know this question has been answered before, but still curious to see an updated answer. I’m in school right now and wear my piercings, and I didn’t wear them during my internship. However, my associate noticed my piercing holes and said I was more than welcome to wear them. My analyst also said no one would really care, and some of my friends at other banks also heard the same things from their manager/analyst and so on. What do you guys think? Is there a future for piercings alongside already relaxed dress codes?
Forget that gun. That gun goes against the entire idea behind piercing. All of my piercings, sixteen places on my body, all of them done with a needle.
Five in each ear, one through the nipple on my left breast, one through my right nostril, one through my left eyebrow, one in my lip, one in my clit... and I wear a stud in my tongue.
It's a sex thing. It helps fellatio.
In the US I wouldn’t. I’d have no issue with it, and unlikely many analyst-VPs would care, but seniors tend to be very conservative
not just in US, even in countries like Malaysia, although some young bosses don't mind piercings but senior staffs tend to be so judgmental. i have seen older staffs keeping new comers with extra piercings away from their circle. to them, such piercings symbolize gangsterism.
I don't have piercings and don't know how easy they are to just put in or take out but i have tattoos that can be visible or covered - think shoulders, thighs, ankles.
I would not show someone who i thought would judge me negatively, however if i know someone especially those my age i am happy to have them go uncovered.
I've worn a singlet in on a weekend to pound out a pack when i knew it was just me and the associate and the VP.
If i'm meeting the partners though i'm gonna want them covered.
Makes sense. My piercings are pretty easy to put in like contacts, but whether I keep them is completely hour dependent once I start. Thx for answering
For anything front office absolutely no piercings on guys, shocked your associate would say that it's fine.
piercings (excessive ones) is no longer a taboo in many regions. but industries that deal with clients in person may have some problems in employing one with extra piercings. its not about the company but the clients' perceptions. many clients especially in Asia don't feel safe liaising with someone overly pierced, hence, this will affect the company's reputation and growth.
