Quarter Zips for the Office - Office Attire

As jackets have gotten out of fashion but office still remains cold, what brands make the best quarter zips to be worn in the office on top of a shirt and with dress pants/slacks. Going for a more formal look but something that could also be worn outside of work.

A few brands that come to mind: Brooks Brothers, Patagonia better sweater (basically the vest but in quarter zip form), Vineyard Vines, Bonobos, Peter Millar, Ralph Lauren, Charles Thyrwitt? Which ones work the best and any other brands people would recommend?

Based on previous WSO threads, here are some recommendations for quarter zips that can be worn in the office for a more formal look:

  1. Brooks Brothers: Known for their classic and professional attire, Brooks Brothers offers high-quality quarter zips that can be paired well with dress pants or slacks.

  2. Patagonia Better Sweater: This brand is popular for its comfort and versatility. The Better Sweater in quarter zip form is a great option for both office wear and casual outings.

  3. Vineyard Vines: Vineyard Vines provides stylish and comfortable quarter zips that can easily transition from office to casual settings.

  4. Bonobos: Bonobos is known for its modern and tailored fit, making their quarter zips a good choice for a polished office look.

  5. Peter Millar: Peter Millar offers high-end, sophisticated quarter zips that are perfect for maintaining a formal appearance in the office.

  6. Ralph Lauren: Ralph Lauren's quarter zips are a classic choice, offering both style and comfort suitable for office wear.

  7. Charles Thyrwitt: While primarily known for their shirts, Charles Thyrwitt also offers quality quarter zips that can complement a professional wardrobe.

These brands are well-regarded for their quality and style, making them suitable for maintaining a formal look in the office while also being versatile enough for casual wear.

Don't get Brooks Brothers or Vineyard Vines. I'd echo Patagonia and Ralph Lauren, though Polo can be hit or miss in quality and Purple is insanely expensive. My personal favorite is Todd Snyder for things like quarter zips, though if you want to spend extra $$$ Auralee or Drake's both usually have 1 or 2 quarter zips per year that have incredible quality. Private White VC, Stoffa, and Inis Meain all offer very nice looking things that could be worn over trousers in a formal setting.
