Short Tie, Swinging Back: Looking for Solution
I have a favorite tie that is rather short compared to my others. When I tie my tie, the back--drawstring part--is a tad bit short and does not reach the loop to keep it tucked in. Occasionally, the drawstring part swings out and looks a bit foolish.
Does anyone have a solution to this? I've thought about using a safety pin but feel that the pin might ruin the tie over time.
Do a simpler knot?
Running the simplest knot possible. Appreciate the suggestion though
Tuck it into your shirt high up, like between the second and third button.
Or buy a new tie
You the man! Thank you CRE.
As long as it reaches your sternum, you could solve this with a tie clip.

Definitely thought about that. Despite it having a fundamental purpose (i.e., stopping the drawstring part of the tie from swaying out from behind), I bet most people would assume it was a fashion statement, and I don't think I want to give off that persona as an intern. Appreciate the insight nonetheless.
