Socks?

What type of socks do you guys wear to the office? I just always wear straight up black dress socks and I want to spice up my sock game a bit.

Any brand or color recs would be helpful.

Also, what are your guys’ opinion on fun/ colorful socks in general?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights on socks for the office:

Recommendations for Office Socks:

  • Color and Style:

    • Navy and Dark Grey: These are the preferred colors for a professional setting. Avoid brown or tan socks.
    • Over the Calf: This style is essential and was once part of the dress code at many firms.
    • Material: Aim for 80% wool and 20% cotton. Wool holds up better after washings, while cotton fades quickly.
  • Brands:

    • Uniqlo: Known for their quality and value, Uniqlo offers great options like argyle socks which have been highly recommended.

Opinions on Fun/Colorful Socks:

  • General Consensus:
    • Fun or colorful socks are generally not recommended for a professional setting. The focus should be on maintaining a conservative and polished look.

Additional Tips:

  • Avoid Loud Colors: Stick to subtle and classic colors to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Comfort: Ensure the socks are comfortable as you'll be wearing them all day.
