Thoughts on Short Sleeve Dress Shirts?

What are your thoughts on people who wear short sleeve dress shirts on a casual basis. E.g. We are going out for drinks or something and a friend shows up wearing one? Is it a crime against fashion?

Personally, I think they are horrible. What do you guys think?

I'm just a college student right now, but I have always been told its a no no. It can be an exception in places like Miami or Southern California were it is warm or hot 24/7 (hot more so in Miami). I own only one short sleeve sports shirt and its white and linen. In general I think it is best to roll up the sleeves on a sports shirt.

Rolled up sleeves look more sophisticated and 'classy' than short sleeved sport's shirts.

Yes they are awful. If you are going short sleeved-wear a polo. If you want to wear a button down, and it gets hot, roll up your sleeves.

This and nothing else.

Only if your arms fill the sleeves...like this

If the sleeves are too big, you can roll them up like this:
