Thoughts on these Ferragamo Loafers?

Thinking of picking up my first pair of ferragamo loafers and was wondering what you guys thought on these in brown?

or these is black?

Are Ferragamo shoes high quality, or are they like other brands where you are just paying for the name?

That's a relative question. I am wearing a 5 year old pair of bit loafers and they are fine. Resoled twice. Leather is broken in, but no cracking. I'll get at least another 5 out of them.

It's good leather, good construction. You're paying more for the brand though. I'm sure AE loafers at a hundred less are just as good.

I've heard Gucci loafers are a little cheap, but can't confirm. I have a bunch of the gamo drivers and love their construction.

Thanks. I have not heard the greatest about the Gucci ones, so I was curious about these.

I love the pebbled as a more casual look, but I am big on symmetry (just a personal preference) thus I will side with the latter pair. Either would look good, though, I'm sure.

OP hope you're not planning on paying retail or close to it. If youre in any big city worth a drive out to the ferrgamo outlet where you can pick those up at 25% to 50% off retail (i.e. high 200's to mid 300's).

To build off this, even if you aren't near a big city you can call the outlet, tell them what you want and they will send it to you. I bought a pair of drivers from the Illinois outlet this way.
