To Bonobos or Not...
Looking to break away from my Brooks Brothers uniform...
Bonobos appears as though they have some nice clothing for the office, but how is their quality? Looking at them online they look fine and their price points are comparable... anyone have the inside scoop?
I don't consider their stuff office friendly. I wear some of their items casually, but never into work. If you want though, you can arrange a fitting session in their Flatiron showroom. You can't buy anything in person there, only through the website, but they do have a showroom next to their design rooms with every piece they sell. Kind of a cool experience, actually.
I don't think of most of Bonobos' stuff as office-friendly, like APAE.

I wear them for work all of the time (and I did in NYC as well).
I wear it casually also but after purchasing some of their dress pants, I can say they are definitely my favorite pair of dress pants that I own FWIW.

I actually took a chance on their foundation suit and it's actually quite nice considering it's a fused construction. I'm generally a fan of their pants. I had one bad experience and they were very apologetic, issued a full refund and gave me a 30 dollar credit. So, in short, to Bonobos. Give em a shot
the wool pants pick up static like no other. you go with them for convenience and customer service, not really cause their pants are great value

How is the fit with Bonobos? Is it as good as they say?
It's not magical, but it comes pretty damn close to bespoke. I think if you're one of the typical urbane, young New York men that Andy had in mind when he made the company, it's pretty much spot on. For instance, I have a really slender waist but more muscular legs from years of sports growing up. I wear a 40R jacket but have a 30" waist ... that's drop-ten instead of the standard drop-six sizing. Their pants are a godsend for me.
You can go over to their showroom on 23rd and try anything you like on, they carry all the pieces they sell online.
Their slacks and khakis are great. They also make a decent suit, nice modern cut. Definitely office friendly, I don't see why it wouldn't be.
