Vests in Australia?

Hi Aussies? About to pull the trigger on a vest. Do Aussie corporates wear vests, seems to be the norm in America but not sure here in Aus?

Thanks!

It can get cold in Sydney in certain times of the year, and in that case I will whip out the old North Face bad boy.

However, don't be that pleb that wears a vest on a 30 degree day in November

They're becoming more and more common these days - have seen Barrenjoey, Jefferies, UBS and GS with their own iterations of the fabled midtown uniform, however by and large IB and CB in Australia are still fairly suit-dense, albeit with no requirement for a tie these days (outside of Jefferies which may think differently as a result of Mr Stock's leadership - famously requiring ties for bankers at CS in 2017).

Very few banks have their own vests made, with a lot of people just buying from patagonia/north face.
