At MOST business casual (if you have video on for calls), but that is probably way over dressed. Most people will be wearing very casual clothing (basically casual t-shirt). A reasonable shirt should be fine, just get comfortable with how to use zoom (or similar) and don’t turn on your video if you aren’t wearing a shirt, as that gets weird. Also plan for video to be turned on, I was once taking a call from my bed and the head of the firm joked with me about turning on my video and making sure I was dressed, so that’ll sometimes happen so just be decent.

Translucent (not transparent) Scotch Tape over the webcam. At least wearing underwear is recommended as well, just in case it falls off.

I'm serious. Bloomberg replaced our account manager, and he asked for an introductory Skype call. Our corporate culture is to have media up for showing powerpoints, but never actually trigger the video feature. The tape saved my ass when he did, since I hadn't showered in about five days.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
