Watch with a tuxedo?

I have an upcoming black tie event and I know traditionally you don't wear a watch with a tux. I have a cartier santos that is pretty dressy (pic below), curious if you think this would look odd with a classic black tux. Ideally I'd have a dress watch on black calf or alligator leather but for now I just have it on stainless or a brown calf leather strap.

I agree with the above. The watch looks to be a bit too big for Black Tie. Traditional Black tie would call for no watch, but if you want to wear one I would recommened something a bit smaller and understated, maybe a JLC ultra master thin with a black strap and white dial.
