Watches

Hey guys!

First time poster long time user of the WSO. Any recommendations on watches for an analyst in ib? I’m not too big on the Apple Watch but not sure if I should go all out for a Rolex. This would be a daily driver I’d think. Any thoughts appreciated!

I'm going to go the other way and say that you should get a get a Rolex.

1 - no other brand out there really means anything to the general public. Yeah, yeah, "those" people on here will talk about AP, PP whatever. But when it comes to the real world, Rolex is on top, period.

2 - it's hard to take a bath on a Rolex. Generally speaking, Rolexes hold their value over time, or maybe decrease a little. You would be pressed to find examples of Rolex reference numbers that plummeted. Seiko? Omega? Whatever other brand? Those guys have a long list of watches you could have bought where you instantly lost money and are never getting it back.

So, if you're just starting out, just want to see if you'd enjoy a nice watch and have some nice jewelry to flash around as a young person, there's a lot of good reasons to choose a Rolex.
