Do you like watches? If you don’t really enjoy them and get some sort of happiness in wearing/collecting them I wouldn’t go too big on this. You can get some solid “professional” watches for a fair bit cheaper than Rolex.
Agree with the above. If the thought of having a mechanical watch doesn’t bring you happiness/excitement, then I would probably just buy a decent watch or just get the Apple Watch. Seiko SKX007/009 is my favorite below $500

I'm going to go the other way and say that you should get a get a Rolex.
1 - no other brand out there really means anything to the general public. Yeah, yeah, "those" people on here will talk about AP, PP whatever. But when it comes to the real world, Rolex is on top, period.
2 - it's hard to take a bath on a Rolex. Generally speaking, Rolexes hold their value over time, or maybe decrease a little. You would be pressed to find examples of Rolex reference numbers that plummeted. Seiko? Omega? Whatever other brand? Those guys have a long list of watches you could have bought where you instantly lost money and are never getting it back.
So, if you're just starting out, just want to see if you'd enjoy a nice watch and have some nice jewelry to flash around as a young person, there's a lot of good reasons to choose a Rolex.
Thanks for the feedback guys! My thing is that I do like watches but idk it’s worth spending so much on like a Rolex or similar caliber. They are so expensive lol and I kinda feel bad. I think I want to definitely get a mechanical watch.
Second the Rolex vote. While you are spending the money upfront, if you are able to buy a desirable model at a good price and/or tax free, losing more than a few hundred dollars would be hard if you keep the box and papers and don’t damage it materially before selling it
