I don't put on my tie until I get to the office. I hold my suit jacket in my hand (or slip it into my bag if I'm carrying one) and I keep an antiperspirant in my bag and at my desk so I can reapply it when I get to work just as a precaution. Just make sure to put them on as soon as you can once you get to work.

Assuming you use WageWorks (or something similar) to buy a monthly subway pass pre-tax, here's a piece of advice.

You can allocate $250/month to pretax transportation. Instead of getting a monthly subway card mailed to you directly ($116/month), select the option to have a debit card sent to you. Keep in mind, this can only be used to transportation purposes (also good for LIRR to get to your share house in Amagansett). You can then use the debit card (up to $250/month) to buy your monthly subway pass...$250-$116 = $134 remaining on your debit.

Here's the "ahah moment" - you can add that debit card as your form of payment for (edited) Via ($5/ride in most of Manhattan). In essence, you'll be using pretax dollars to pay for your air-conditioned ride to and from Murray Hill.

In the summer, I get taken to work in a buttermilk, 2002 Bentley Corniche, and I usually have Woodhouse put the top down, so the breeze keeps things relatively cool.

I usually swoop into work via my private helicopter (full climate control A/C settings). This way, I never have to worry about soiling my Armani suits
