What is a good slim-fit overcoat for winter?

I'm not really sure what kind of coat to wear over a suit during winter. I'm a first year analyst in back office asset management, so looking for something not too expensive (200, maybe 300 if its nice). Thanks :)

At that price range I would look at nord rack, Saks off fifth (as mentioned above), or Burlington type stores. What you find may not be in an actual slim fitting cut so you may have to drop down a size (and possibly opt for long over regular), other option would be to take it to a tailor and for around 100$ they'll get it fitted to your specifics (tapering the sleeves slightly and pulling in the waist).

Pro tip: make sure you try it on with a suit jacket (just grab one off of an adjacent rack if you're not wearing one), the layers add up and just wearing a button-down or tee shirt while trying on will add up to an entirely different feel.

Need to get an overcoat as well. Similar to OP, I would need a slimmer overcoat. While I would wear it with a suit, I would likely wear it more often casually so I want it to be well-fitted as well (might have to go to a tailor for this).

Price Range: $100-450

Color: Camel is first choice by far, I would be okay with Navy or Light Grey if it was really good value and not many good camel options.

Any specific brands would be super helpful. Thanks!
