What Should Trading Assistants Wear To Work

I got an intern position as a trading assistant for the fall. I got the position through a phone interview so I didn't even go into the firm. What's proper attire for a trading assistant and what should I wear on the first day?

Not typical of traders to wear ties (from what I've seen), but would agree with Bobb and wear suit and tie.

no ties. but you will wear a tie on the first day.

Not sure with some of the responses here - it depends on the firm. What is the dress code on the trading floor? If not sure, then find out. No need to overdress if everyone else is wearing business casual.

So it's bulge bracket firm and I was told business casual by the employer but previous people who have held the position have told be a suit (no tie). Not sure which to go with? What is business casual considered on Wall Street?

@jay44 Just wear a suit no tie dude. Most traders are business casual but it isn't like you can't take the coat off. My BB is business casual and even I wear a jacket for some stuff. If previous people told you to do it, it cannot hurt. Risk vs reward man, plain and simple.
