What wallet do you use/recommend?

Thinking of buying a new wallet, new VP that is looking to put the phone and wallet on the table, currently my wallet is brown so thought it might not fit in very well (prefer black).

Wondering what monkeys are using/have seen as wallets that look good to them, will appreciate recommendations/thoughts. I prefer black/brown/grey, no coins, only cards, don't have a budget in mind but less the better? <100 is ideal

Thanks guys.

Some examples of things that i find that are good:

I've used the Bellroy Slim Sleeve everyday for the past couple years and like it. Its held its color well and shows limited wear. The bifold does make it slightly thicker than the smallest wallets out there, but it is far from thick. I like the brand in general and have found their products to be good.

Based on the highest ranked content on WSO and the preferences you've outlined, it seems you're in search of a sleek, professional wallet that leans towards the minimalist side, especially favoring black, brown, or grey colors without the need for a coin compartment. Your budget of under $100 also points towards looking for value alongside quality and style. Here are some recommendations and thoughts based on what has been discussed and appreciated within the WSO community:

  1. Montblanc Wallets: While Montblanc might be slightly above the budget, it's often mentioned for its high-quality leather and durability. It's a brand that's not as loudly luxurious as Gucci or Louis Vuitton, making it suitable for a VP looking to make a subtle yet strong impression. A simple black Montblanc wallet could fit your requirements perfectly, offering both the elegance and functionality needed for a professional setting.

  2. Bellroy Wallets: You've already listed a few options from Bellroy, and it's a brand that gets a lot of love for its sleek designs and practicality. The Slim Sleeve Wallet or the Card Sleeve Wallet in black or hazelnut could be exactly what you're looking for. They are known for their quality and have options well within your budget.

  3. No Wallet, Just a Rubber Band: While this might be on the more unconventional side, it's a minimalist approach that's been mentioned. It involves using a rubber band to hold together a few essential cards and bills. This method is ultra-slim, cost-effective, and eliminates any worry about matching colors or materials. However, it might not align with the professional image you're aiming to project as a new VP.

  4. Goyard Card Holder: Although typically more expensive, if you can find a deal or are willing to stretch your budget slightly, a Goyard card holder could be a stylish statement piece. It's luxurious without being over-the-top and fits the card-only requirement perfectly.

  5. Using a High-Quality Leather Wallet from a Lesser-Known Brand: Sometimes, the best value can be found in high-quality products from brands that don't carry the same weight as the big names in luxury. Brands like Gnome & Bow, which you've listed, offer excellent craftsmanship at a more accessible price point. Their Gulliver Small Coin Bifold Wallet, even with a coin compartment, showcases the sleek design and functionality you're after.

In conclusion, while the Bellroy options you've found are already well-aligned with your criteria, exploring Montblanc for a slightly higher investment might yield a wallet that meets your professional needs and aesthetic preferences. Remember, the right wallet is not just about the brand or the look; it's about how it complements your style and meets your daily requirements.

not well acquainted with full grain but took a look at some online resources (i.e. link below).

Are the differences noticeable vs other types of leather (i.e. top grain)? Seems like top grain does make a bit of sense in terms of presentation (i.e. top is modified to give it the clear feeling).

I'm a personal fan of the Montblanc Meisterstuck Wallets, been using one for the last few years and it still looks great.

They've gone up in price, but you can likely find ones at ~50% discount at outlets, setting you back somewhere in the low-mid $100s.

Are the outlet ones going to lower quality though? I'm looking for a new wallet - want to upgrade off of the ~$50 Nordstrom rack type that leaves cards all dirty after a few weeks.

Fair concerns, for sure.

I personally have purchased a few items (wallets, belts) for myself and friends through traditional retail stores like the flagship in New York, in addition to outlets. So far, I thankfully haven't noticed a drastic quality difference between the products.

I have one too and love it. Only issue is it tends to get worn down over time as you take your phone in/out of your pocket but they're pretty cheap to replace

Got a Hugo boss leather card holder and it looks/feels/is fully designer for like $150. Love it
