What’s the maximum acceptable heel height for women these days?

I’m moving into more of an AM role at one of the large banks (JPM/MS/GS). My previous team’s head was kind of weird and asked me to wear higher heels above 3 inches for client meetings because it would make them pay attention more when I present he said. But now that I’m joining a different organization, I’m wondering if I need to replace my existing heels.

Would 3.5” heels be acceptable for a woman who’s already 5’11” without shoes? Most of my heels are in the 3.25” - 3.5” range.
