Which winter jacket do you wear to work in Finance? (2023)

Currently working in consulting and the senior group I work a lot with (M&A practice, PE) care a lot about formal business attire. A lot of them are former bankers. I always find it quiet easy to dress well in summer (chino + shirt or suit), but what do you wear on top in winter? I have a Moncler puffer jacket but I am not sure how well that blends with a suit. What do you prefer to wear?

Ah, the winter wardrobe conundrum! It's a tricky one, isn't it? You want to stay warm, but you also want to look professional. Based on the most helpful WSO content, I'd suggest sticking with a classic overcoat or a wool peacoat. These types of coats are warm, stylish, and they blend well with a suit.

As for your Moncler puffer jacket, while it's undoubtedly warm and high-quality, it might not be the best fit for a formal business environment. It's more on the casual side and might clash with the formality of a suit.

Remember, the key is to balance comfort, warmth, and style. And don't forget your scarf and gloves! They're the cherry on top of your winter outfit sundae. Stay warm out there!
