Winter dress shoes?

I’m starting full time ib this January in NYC and I’ve never lived outside of California, so I have no idea how to dress for the winter. What do y’all wear to the office in rain/snow & do you have office appropriate winter shoe recommendations?

Myself and most others in my group usually just wear some kind of semi-professional boots while commuting and change into dress shoes in the office.

I wear Blundstones but leather chelsea boots are quite common as well.

Definitely don't recommend wearing your dress shoes while commuting in the winter as they'll absolutely destroy your shoes.

Get some basic winter boots for the commute and keep your work shoes at your desk for when you get in. No point trying to get work shoes specifically for the winter.
