You guys wearing ties to in person interviews?

Been a while since I've had an in person interview. Don't think I've ever seen anyone in real estate wear a tie, rarely even a suit, but should I wear one to an interview? Associate level asset management interview

Certainly doesn't hurt. I wore one to the interview for my current job and the interviewers cracked a joke that I'd probably only see one or two people in the office wearing a tie ever.

I may be the only time I'd still wear a tie.

If you show up and you're clearly overdressed, just take it off and make a quick joke about it or leave it on and make a joke at the concept of wearing a tie to an interview. No one will care. If you show up and they expect you to wear a tie and you don't have one though you look like a clown.

The pro/con clearly leans tie.

100% wear a tie. You’ll never be taken less seriously for trying harder to show that you care unless you’re interviewing for odd balls. I’ve had multiple people tell me that they were refreshed to see me show up looking professional because people are too comfortable dressing down nowadays. If I was hiring someone I’d personally like to see them come in like they cared and thought about these things beforehand to prepare.
