Anyone move from SM / MM to LO mid-career?
Question in title. I'm struggling to see how my career can continue in a shrinking SM l/s environment nor can I see myself working at a MM long-term. I'm ~8 years into my career - 1 in banking, 2 in PE, 5 in public markets at SMs.
Switching to a LO feels ideal for the life that I'm trying to build, but am not sure how the recruiting pipeline works to LO mid-career. Anybody had any success? What was your journey?
Yes, has happened plenty of times
what was the process of people you saw make the move? recruiters have been useless for me. I've been networking, but a lot of LO analyst seats are homegrown these days supposedly
