Anyone move from SM / MM to LO mid-career?
Question in title. I'm struggling to see how my career can continue in a shrinking SM l/s environment nor can I see myself working at a MM long-term. I'm ~8 years into my career - 1 in banking, 2 in PE, 5 in public markets at SMs.
Switching to a LO feels ideal for the life that I'm trying to build, but am not sure how the recruiting pipeline works to LO mid-career. Anybody had any success? What was your journey?

what was the process of people you saw make the move? recruiters have been useless for me. I've been networking, but a lot of LO analyst seats are homegrown these days supposedly
