If too many people know they are approachable, they become unapproachable. Keep this to yourself
haha EMH
I heard from Ackman that Icahn is super approachable
I heard Icahn is super approachable too, but I have to admit his standup is quite exceptional.
ackman was in the same elevator as me a lot so he literally couldn't avoid talking to me if he tried.
That's so cool haha, do you have any stories?

he is much more likely to respond if you include an idea for the Mets that is creative.
I've had the chance to speak to a few legends, and my experience has been that if you're introduced and are humble, most people are relatively friendly (although, not all). People are on guard about cold contacts, in part because so many kids these days are very arrogant and presumptuous when trying to network. In my experience, calls also go better if you have specific questions or advice you're asking for, instead of just generally trying to shoot the shit. These people are busy and tend to have problem-oriented mindsets.
They're all "approachable" by people who already work for them. When I was at Citadel, I only barely knew Ken -- I had only 2 business related conversations with him during the whole time I worked for him, but several times we were alone in an elevator or something, and I tried to shrink back into the wall to not disturb him but he always went surprisingly out of his way to make small talk and ask me how my weekend was, etc. The CEO at my current firm (another legendary guy) is the same way too.
But I can't imagine they do that for strangers who cold call them. Not enough time in the day for them to "have coffee" with every random guy who cold emails them.
