Are Porter's Five Forces/ SWOT analysis valuable for tech companies?
You typically don't have the traditional supply chain (most of the stuff that is used by tech companies is commoditized hardware from Asia), they have huge incumbency / network effects once they get into the consumer base and regulatory threat is almost always there (though no one really knows what will be the outcome).
