Asset managers with L/S books
Some asset managers such as BlackRock and Wellington run L/S equity books. Any others out there? Is the variable comp usually a formula and how does the comp compare to the one of PMs at SMs/MMs?

Artisan runs decentralized - each portfolio is its own entity. They have Antero Peak, run by someone who is ex-Karsch, it's a long/short.
Interesting; any in Europe?
Bump
JPM AM has some
AB has some I think?
Oh yeah, AB Arya. Good call.

Not sure what you mean by "in line with the pods" but yes I believe they run market neutral.
What is the unit in JP called? Surprised that they do L/S.
Look up JPM Europe Equity Alpha fund. It's on their website. It's market neutral L/S
Seems like Wellington trying to push hard in this direction, already the biggest player with >$30 bil in HF assets and heard they’ve been pretty actively looking to acquire / hire …
But does Wellington pay >>500k with 4yoe?
Not sure. Have heard the comp at those places can be pretty back loaded (all about making Partner)
