Best Market Data source for individual investors
I was wondering if anyone had thoughts on what was the best Market Data source for individual investors?
I'm looking for something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg but that is like factset/capiq/Bloomberg that I can use to help get historical financials and what not when building my own models.
I know yahoo finance has a tool, but I'm wondering if there is a more popular offering out there that people use when developing their stock pitches, or is the best bet to just get data from the company filings and manually enter into a model?
I get Factset for free, so take with a grain of salt.
But yes,10K/10Q are great ways to get the data for free. Yahoo finance is generally good, but I have seen times when the numbers are slightly off or just wrong for certain ratios or data.
Makes sense. I have factset on my work computer, but I would ideally like to do my individual stock research separate from work so I don't have to email my personal models back and forth that could get flagged.
