interesting, is tech investing done best in pods? also whats the mandate for these investors software + semis (any that focus on one vs either)? Also feel like tech is uniquely well positioned for cross over (at least at the SM level) because alpha can be derived from very good early stage/growth knowledge. Can image tons of names being shaked by AI startups in the next few years

agreed but I would believe that the more knowledge the better and many private companies will be eating at publics pretty quickly. So many legacy companies within the tech space that I believe will be obliterated (lack of talent, infra is outdated and all built on previous ideologies where you literally can't move as fast as someone building something from scratch which is new and better).
Am in the valley so might be biased but feels like there are so many consequences of AI that hasn't been baked into publics + PE. Was in tech PE and so many of the companies that we were buying could be spun up in like 2 weeks now from a technical standpoint (obvi there are more moats), Plus they were also interesting in some old it services company with tons of white collar workers - which i would believe would be driven to the ground. Wouldn't be surprised if in 10y pe portfolio suffers a bunch, especially those MM vertical saas companies spun up by some snoozy guy with very unproductive software engineers.
