So I got an offer for an associate role at BX in Toronto. They have an impeccable reputation in the US but does that translate the same way in Toronto.

RE PE in Canada is an expensive game. Hard to find juicy IRRs.
That said, if the comp is good then go for it...lateral transfers are a thing!!
