Career Advice (Rly Appreciate Any Help)

I'm a first year PE analyst at a MM shop (2-4B Fund) and looking to recruit for MM HFs or SMs. My question is, when is the earliest I can leave for a hedge fund? 6 months in, 1 year, 2? And since my background is not the most prestigious, would I only be eligible for MMs? And would you recommend for more looks I transition to a standard IB program? Thanks for all advice!
