Chances at a Hedge Fund

6 1/2 years into career; 5 1/2 years spent in accounting; past about a year spent in FP&A for a major bank. Currently trying to break into IB. Assuming I could break into IB, could I do 2 years as an associate and then have a shot (and how realistic of a shot?) at breaking into a hedge fund? Undergrad and MBA are from non-target state schools. I'm 28.

Also, what would be the best path to give me the highest shot of breaking into a hedge fund?

Thanks!
