There was this rumor on WSB that the Prop Desk of BAML started shorting too after the buying ban, but don´t know whether that´s actually true. Short Squeeze hasn´t even happened yet, and the price is already at 300$+ lol.

Banks have prop desks that can do this? I'm not so sure there. I am sure other hedge funds took shorts at much better levels and those are not a problem as much as the low dollar shorts that go parabolic - just think about the math.
It's pretty clear that the stop out hasn't happened yet - more the market sensing pain and squeezing them.
How can they legally put out statements that they closed out their position tho?
