Did my networking call go well?
Cue the eye rolls on another person trying to read between the lines from a call, but I can’t stop going over if it went well or not. I recently had a call with a fund that isn’t necessarily hiring now but is having calls getting to know people. I would say it was sort of a phone interview but not for a currently open position was the sense I got. It was unclear if I was doing well or not, but at the end they said they really enjoyed the conversation, and they would let me know if anything comes up. Would you guys interpret these as positive/negative/neutral? Yes, I know it’s a waste of time reading into these things but I can’t stop.
We can’t really know since we weren’t on the call with you. All I can say is to make sure you follow up on your own even though they said they would be in contact with you. Make sure you stay on their radar and don’t wait cause they will most likely forget about you if you don’t take a proactive approach.
Thanks, how often do you think is an appropriate frequency to contact them to stay in touch but not be annoying?
