Disillusioned - what to do

Hi folks. I’m 30-35 y/o. Been in L/S at a SM for just over a year. Have had other equity investing and operating roles in the past.

I am the only one on my small team who works in City and I am feeling isolated. I can’t move for personal reasons.

I also am not feeling any meaning. I’ve saved up ~$5mm so no longer feel urgency of making money like I used to. The pay is good but for once I have started to ask what am I doing with my life? And feeling lethargic about day to day work.

I have started thinking about things like the community of working at a fast growing startup or working at a place with a mission that keeps you energized.

Has anyone navigated this before? Any off the shelf words of wisdom for this type of feeling? Do you recommend people take this seriously, or, “grow up, it’s a job”?
