Do you find sitting thru entire earnings calls (for multiple companies) productive or do you find it a waste of time as you wait thru boilerplate answers/ presentations and other people's questions?

Currently at a hedge fund. 80% of my work is going through earnings calls and fundamentally understand what is going on in the business. I wish there was a more efficient way to go through EC.
