Equity Sales
I am going into equity sales at a regional office for a top 3 bank. I am really interested in getting into investment management at an HF or AM. I was wondering whether people think there is any chance of utilizing the connections made in sales to make this transition,m, or if it would be best to try and transfer internally? Also, what do people think about going into an MSF or MBA program a couple years down the line and trying to transition from there? Would those be viable paths? Thanks

Almost never happens. Salesperson can become BD or with the right relationships IR at a HF though.
Internally transfer to IBD or ER if you want to be in an investing role.
What's BD?
Business Development
ah ok
Seems like there's more likelihood of this happening if you're an investment-oriented salesperson. Maybe could help to be spec sales as well.
