First round interview with recruiter - what to expect?
I recently received a LinkedIn message and email out of nowhere from a large MM HF for a L/S Equity Analyst role. I haven't been preparing for these kind of interviews and am not sure what to expect so any help would be appreciated. I follow the markets 24/7 and have been actively managing my portfolio for the past couple years but am not experienced investing in this sector and haven't done L/S. My investing up to this point has been very focused on a niche part of the market and while I've had a lot of success there, I'm not sure how it will transfer over to this position.
Can’t speak from first hand experience, but I would expect a lot of questions around your fit and experience as well as a stock pitch - be prepared for both a long and a short - and maybe a case study with a modeling test.
Super interesting how they reached out directly to you. Would you mind sharing some brief info on your background?
