Generalist Vs Specialist in Global Macro?
Is it possible to have a robust knowledge in FX, Credit, and Commodities and still be competitive with people that are just Gold Experts, or Energy Traders? Is it possible to learn "everything" or to be realistic do you really need to choose a vertical? if it's impractical to aim for depth and breadth, how would you categorize the verticals or specialties within global macro. Thanks!
