Grades for MMHF?

Got FT at one of the large pod shops a couple of months ago, currently sitting on a 3.7/first but I might overload some classes I'm interested in this year. Classes I have to take for my major this year also have horrific curves so my GPA may drop toward a 3.0/2:2

No grade requirement in my full-time contract but curious if there's a limit to where the offer is pulled - will just drop the extra classes in that case

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights regarding GPA and its impact on your full-time offer at a large pod shop:

  1. GPA Importance:

    • While a high GPA is generally important for securing interviews and offers, once you have a full-time offer, the specific GPA requirement may be less stringent.
    • There is no explicit GPA requirement mentioned in your full-time contract, which suggests some flexibility.
  2. Potential GPA Drop:

    • If your GPA drops significantly (toward a 3.0/2:2), it could raise concerns, especially if the drop is due to overloading on classes that are not required for your major.
    • It's advisable to maintain a balance and avoid overloading on classes that could negatively impact your GPA.
  3. Actionable Advice:

    • Consider dropping the extra classes if they are likely to cause a significant drop in your GPA.
    • Focus on maintaining a strong performance in your major-required classes, even if they have difficult curves.
  4. General Guidance:

    • It's always a good idea to communicate with your employer if you have concerns about meeting their expectations. Transparency can help manage any potential issues before they become problematic.

In summary, while there is no explicit GPA requirement in your contract, maintaining a strong GPA is advisable. If the extra classes are likely to cause a significant drop, it may be wise to reconsider taking them.
