hey guys,
have a phone call with a headhunter for HF's coming up. what should i expect? questions about my story, why xx bank etc? what do they want to hear?

Know your deals and more importantly know why you want to work at a hedge fund and specifically why you want to work in a particular discipline (L/S, event driven, macro, etc.).
Not kidding when i tell you this:
Favorite book youve read in the past 6 months that wasn't business related
I would expect all the questions to be background related.
Be able to talk about your investing style and how that fits with the types of funds you are targeting. Know your immediate goals and plans and have conviction on your geography. Have good answers for why you left each job if you've left them, and have references ready to go that they can contact.
They basically want to hear you know what you are doing, and you'll show well for the funds they put you in front of.
I prepped a few investment ideas as well to bring along as sample work product.
