Hedge fund jobs that will let you do your own thing with little oversight (seed through public)

I want to invest in a certain sector both public and private (the publics in this sector are <~3y old on average and there are still a million seed stage companies cropping up so it's a very nascent sector). I have a strong network of founders in the private space, users of the tools, and employees at the publics who I can regularly talk to. I have models of all the public companies and have a 50+ page paper mapping out the value chain of this sector and why I want to invest in certain parts of that value chain and who the best players are.

I'm going to H/S in the fall and will continue to refine my thesis but basically I'm looking for a seat where somebody just kind of lets me go do my own thing. I'm happy submitting everything to someone else for review but I'm extremely tired of working for someone else and know I could make a fuck ton of money by going off on this little adventure. It's highly technical and poorly understood and I have expertise here and as Howard Marks says, that's a recipe for making money.

My worry is that I won't find anyone who knows what I'm talking about - they'll only understand their slice of the value chain (e.g., Seed/A, venture growth, public) and I can't convince someone to let me invest in areas of opportunity up and down the existing sector maturity where I see opportunity. Thoughts?
