It would help to understand what you are interested in and what you want to do 5-10 years down the road? I am not sure there is a "right" answer, depends on what you are trying to optimise for
Do large cap PE. I think PE people are dumb but it still is a solid resume booster. Also I just never saw a stable career of anyone doing event driven at MM.
I think a big consideration here is whether you want operational exposure (i.e. - how do you actually improve a business once you own it). Not sure how much of that there is in Large-Cap, but you will not get that at a fund (unless activist).
