How feasible is an exit to a fundamentals driven long/short equity hedge fund from Jefferies? Is this exit common? What fund size? MM or SM? Is 2 years of PE necessary? Will I need to go out of my way to recruit? Thanks.

It'll depend on what specifically you were doing there at Jefferies. Were you an execution trader handling the orderflow from HF clients? Were you in research/analysis? Those two would definitely have some transferability over to a HF. I'd find a head hunter and walk them through your background and let them review your resume so they can shop you to the right kind of match. You never mentioned what your goal is in the HF world either. What is it? Fund size, MM vs SM, strategy don't matter except your own personal preference. Two years of PE is not necessary.
