HF interview - tested for IQ and MBTI
Interviewing for a junior research analyst (graduate) role at an SM equity long/short and was told to expect an IQ and MBTI test first, then a behavioral interview, finally a case study.
First time hearing about this, is this normal? What MBTI would they screen for?
I had to do these PI tests after the case round as a final step for a role I recruited for. At that stage in the process I thought the outcome on those tests could matter less unless I scored something equivalent to a 0 iq and got a super aggressive personality / someone difficult to work with on the behavorial test. Your case matters a lot more.
So don’t try to solve for any specific outcome and do it as you would normally unless your normal outcome would be something extreme.
Thanks for sharing. The concern is the sequence that the MBTI and IQ tests comes before anything else. However it could still be the case that you described, if the results aren’t off by too much, the case holds the most weight. Anyway there’s not much I could do to prepare for the tests.
Where (firm or if you prefer just geography) did you find a graduate role for L/S SM?
Hong Kong
